Hello friends!/Hola amigos!
I’m back to posting after a month or so. I know I haven’t posted in a while but I know you’ll get 8 posts or more within the next 55 days.
I have made it to Costa Rica home of the best coffee and the happiest people. I landed yesterday at 11:30 in San Jose, and got to my house at about 5 at night. Costa Rica is 2 hours behind Florida, and one hour behind Texas and Missouri.
Yesterday was great. With the driver I went to this cute little restaurant in San Jose or somewhere. I had no service all day!’ But the food was good, I had rice, plantains, fries, and some other things I can’t remember but it was amazing. The meal was only $5! Restaurant El Jardín San Jose, Costa Rica. We ate at about 6-7 bean soup with rice and a salad. It was good!! Then I talked with my roommate a little and we talked about the rooms and the cat Frida. After Frida Kahlo. The student before us stayed for 9 months and named the cat.
Now, my first day at school was an interesting day. I hate to say it but I got really nervous about being here because I’m under 18, so I can’t be by myself, but I didn’t know if that meant without staff or just by myself, without a group. Turns out I can go with a group! Just not by myself. As always I can NOT drink alcohol and it’s ilegal for anyone under 18 to smoke inside of a restaurant even if the restaurant allows you to sit outside. We did a tour around the town of Tamarindo and it is a small, cute town. We went to the most expensive restaurant in Tamarindo called Pangas beach club. I had the gazpacho and found out I don’t like gazpacho.
Once we got back we got our schedules and had missed all of our classes for the day so we had to stay until the bus brought us to the house at 5. So we chilled in the pool and played cards inside. A game called president. I had never played or heard of it until today. Tomorrow I’m going to bring a bathing suit to school so I can swim in the pool after my classes!
I had the most wonderful dinner! And every family member calls from home all at the same time. I hope this isn’t an everyday thing but I wouldn’t mind if it was. It was storming for a half an hour or more, but it is calm now. I am hoping to sleep in the near future. Happy birthday to my dogs! Oreo and Buttercup are 3 today!!
Have a blessed week!
Pura vida!
