Good morning everyone!
THE ERIN CONDREN 2019 PLANNERS LAUNCHED ON THURSDAY AND I LOVE THEM.
Okay, now that I got that over with… almost… Let’s get on to this week’s topic. Planners in Language learning. The nice thing about the Erin Condren planners is that they are very decently sized, and not so overwhelming (if you don’t buy a tote bag of $109 value for $35 full of things you don’t even use because of Black Friday). However, I don’t believe I’ll go with Erin Condren for the 2019 year, if I did, it’s only because I love the customizable covers and interior. However, I think you might be able to buy customizable Happy Planner covers from Etsy. Hopefully, that is the case because I think they’re my next choice.
Let’s get to the language learning portion of this planning blog! I use it to jot down my Italki lessons, as well as to do lists for school projects, turning in library books, and also l jot in time to do some self-study. I watch Easy French, so to remind myself, I move a sticky note around weekly reminding me to watch Easy French every day. Usually in the morning. It’s so nice to have something that holds me accountable. I write down little things I learned that specific day to talk about in my Italki lessons.
I understand that this hobby (this is a legitimate hobby) can be time-consuming, and if you go with Erin Condren, EXPENSIVE. The Happy Planners are cheaper, and bigger so I can have more space to write. It’s a really good home office planner. One that is at your desk that you write into when you have work/school events. But, also you have enough room to journal about your day, like if you write down a conversation you had with some stranger in Indonesian and you want to write what it was about, and maybe if it ended because you got stuck on a word or phrase. Maybe even embarrassing mistakes you make that you might want to talk to your Italki teacher about.
A few weeks ago in my Habit Tracker post, I received a comment about their preference of iPhones for habits and daily routines. I can see where/how that would be useful and also the reason I hadn’t gotten a planner a year ago, and just started this year. I will do a technology in language learning post one of these days! Let me know if y’all want it sooner than later!
Have an amazing week!
Marina.
