So, Benny Lewis, the author of Fluent in Three Months, came out with four language hacking books that incorporated his methods and how to work with Italki. His books are in French, German, Spanish, and Italian. I currently have the French and the Spanish book. I plan on getting the Italian one later this year. I really hope he comes out with one for Portuguese and Esperanto as well.

I bought the Spanish book because I wanted to see if I was really as advanced as I thought. The answer is yes, yes I was. I could read that book fluently, even the Spanish conversations. So, I’ll be using that book for my job Spanish tutoring I begin next week.

This is a great book to use with another method, like Assimil or another really good teaching method that goes into a bit more detail than he does. He seems to have verified his facts, as his degree does not specialize in linguistics. He reflects back on his book Fluent in Three Months frequently, for those who maybe have not bought it. However, that is highly unlikely that those who take his courses haven’t previously read his book.

He gives very useful information and explanations that make it seem easy. He uses context clues a lot, which I’m really bad with, even in English. He believes that we should be able to figure out what the word “Soy” means in a sentence or “suis” in my case.

Each book has 10 units, and in each unit contains sub-lessons. Such as 1.1, and so on. They don’t feel like a lot of work, however, they are a lot of them to finish a unit.
